The Smallest Possible Intervention
Why the right remedy is quiet, and why quiet is not the same as slight.
There is a persuasive assumption in modern medicine that the force of a treatment should match the severity of a complaint. Homeopathy proceeds from the opposite conviction: that the smallest accurate stimulus is enough, provided it is accurate.
Accuracy here means the totality — not only what hurts, but how it hurts, when it worsens, what it resembles emotionally, and what it has meant in the life of this particular person.
When the match is right, the response is rarely dramatic. Sleep deepens. Something long braced begins to soften. Patients often report the change sideways, as if it had happened to someone else.
That quietness is not weakness. It is what healing looks like when nothing is being forced.
